Counselling & Psychotherapy for You

My practice covers; stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and abuse, with all the associated behaviours, thoughts, and feelings. So, how could we work together?

It takes courage to start working with a counsellor. You might just be curious about how and who you are, or suffering as a consequence of difficult relationships at work or home, perhaps even not having any meaningful relations in your life at all. Whatever your discomfort I aim to help you find a way to restore some understanding and confidence to deal with the events, changes, and challenges, that your life presents.

I work with you in a confidential and safe place so that we can explore your experiences, concerns, anxieties, challenges, hopes, and potential together safely and confidentially. All of our work will relate to your specific needs and the BACP commitment to clients via ethics, values, and principles of;
  • Being trustworthy: honouring the trust placed by you in our work
  • Autonomy: respect for your right to be self-governing
  • Beneficence: a commitment to promoting your wellbeing
  • Non-maleficence: a commitment to avoiding any harm to you
  • Justice: the fair and impartial treatment of all clients and provision of adequate services
  • Self-respect: fostering the practitioners self-knowledge, integrity and care for self
Together we will find the best way for you to raise, recognise and resolve the difficulties that you might be experiencing. Good relationships help us to manage and maintain good mental health through changes and challenges. When those are not working for you, or available to you, my work aims to help you find a way that you can understand and use to navigate your life.

To begin working together we need to arrange to meet and discuss your expectations from counselling and how we might best meet them. Two things are really important at this stage, that you want to explore changes for you, and that you and I can work together. Initial consultations are free, after which we can arrange to meet on a regular basis. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long.
